Satoru Masai
Executive Director
Satoru has executive responsibility for running all aspects of Hello-Global.com, the new endeavor of Hello G Co., LTD as of June 2009. He brings over 20 years of international business experience to the organization, having worked for both public and private sectors.
At his previous firm, Satoru supported Japanese companies who wanted to develop an overseas market as the Senior Consultant for a leading market research company in Tokyo.
He was also based in Seattle for 11 years and worked in the Representative office of Hyogo Prefecture as Deputy Director to attract US companies to Kobe (predominantly for the IT sector). This allowed him to develop many executive level contacts in the US. Following his governmental work, he used his entrepreneurial skills to establish a Consulting & Distribution company in Seattle as a subsidiary of one the largest mail order companies. His consultation work covered both US and Japanese companies. He developed a wholesale business selling Japanese consumer goods (cosmetics, household goods) to 15.000 customers including major US department stores, drugstores, speciality stores and online stores as well as introducing US products into the Japanese market.
In his first role he operated the ODA (Official Development Assistance) in Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, recovery project by Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake for IT sectors in Hyogo Prefecture, Kobe.
Satoru holds a Bachelor`s degree in Science from the Tokyo University of Science.
